Galileo Services welcomes the communication from the Commission on the post-2020 Multiannual Financial Framework

On 2 May 2018 the European Commission released its communication on the post-2020 Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) entitled ‘A Modern Budget for a Union that Protects, Empowers and Defends’. Galileo Services welcomes the Commission’s budget proposal allocated to space policy, i.e. EUR 16 bn. With about 10% of the Union’s GDP being enabled by satellite navigation signals, ensuring the sustainability and evolution of the Galileo programme is of utmost importance.

In the next few weeks the European GNSS downstream industry will be attentive to the amount of budget allocated to the development of innovative GNSS-enabled applications and services within Horizon Europe. Galileo Services reminds of the manifold fantastic opportunities the European downstream services may provide to the Union, including growth and job creation.
